Marking Land Features

Creating A Digital Field Map
SiteWinder does so much more than just guide your path as you spray. It creates a comprehensive digital map of the field, so you will be able to see everything that is around you, on the screen.

The map shows the size and shape of the field and displays the location of all land features you enter, including trees, rocks, tile lines, sprinkler pivots, weed patches, wet spots, ditches, fence lines, gate locations, and oil or gas wells.

Once entered, land features will appear on screen anytime you drive in their vicinity, even at night when they may be out of headlight range.

The land feature marking you do the first time you drive a field with SiteWinder pays off every time you return to the field. SiteWinder gives you a clear picture of where you are in the field and all that’s around you.

How To Mark Land Features
To mark the location of any land features:
  • Hit the Mark button at the bottom right of the View Window
  • Select the type of feature you’re marking
  • -A Line for field borders, roads, ditches, power lines, pipes, etc.
  • -A Point for rocks, trees, poles, gates, etc.
  • -An Area for weed patches, wet spots, etc.
  • Select the appropriate feature and its location relative to the boom (far left, mid left, center, mid right or far right)

TagBox for One Touch Land Feature Marking
You can also mark the location of land features using the remote control TagBox, an optional feature of SiteWinder. TagBox lets you mark, or tag, land features with the touch of a single button. To mark a land feature you need to assign one of the TagBox’s four programmable command buttons to record the location and type of feature. For example if the field has a lot of rocks, you may assign a button to mark rocks on the far right end of the boom.
